What is Form G-1145?

Form G-1145, “e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance” is a form allowing applicants and petitioners to be informed electronically that a certain USCIS form was successfully registered.

If you want to receive an email or text message from USCIS containing receipt number(s) for the immigration forms you have filed, submit a copy of a completed Form G-1145 with your application packet.

Approximately within 1 week after you submitted the application to USCIS, you should receive a text message with receipt number(s). Please check your spam folder for email(s) from USCIS.

You can check the status of your case online by entering your receipt number: https://egov.uscis.gov/

The hard copy notices typically arrive by mail 1-2 weeks after USCIS sends you a notification via text.

Who needs to file Form G-1145?

Form G-1145, the “e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance,” is an optional form that individuals can file with the following USCIS forms:

  • I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker
  • I-130, Petition for Alien Relative
  • I-131, Application for Travel Document
  • I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker
  • I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status
  • I-765, Application for Employment Authorization
  • I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
  • And other related forms.

Form G-1145 filing fee

There is no additional fee to submit Form G-1145.

How many G-1145s do I need to submit if filing several forms at the same time?

If you are concurrently filing several forms, you might need to fill out two separate G-1145 forms. 

For example, if you are filing Forms I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131 at the same time, you need to complete 2 Forms G-1145 – one for petitioner and second for beneficiary. 

In such a case, petitioner will receive a text message or email containing Form I-130 receipt number and beneficiary will receive text messages or emails containing Forms I-485, I-765 and I-131 receipt numbers.

How soon after submitting Form G-1145 will I receive hard copy USCIS notices by mail?

You will receive hard copy registration notices from USCIS by mail approximately 1-2 weeks after receiving electronic notification(s).
